Bierfest, fanny packs, AC/DC cover bands, oh my!
Being beer aficionados, we thought what better way to acquaint ourselves with Santiago than to partake in bierfest? Like all beer festivals, it was full of drunk, happy people enjoying one another's company with the occasional argument between friends ending with shrieks of "COMMUNIST!". When we arrived, the beer lovers of Chile and chilean heavy metal fans seem to be one in the same which was evident by the long dark hair, chains, tattoos, and black fanny packs? After the athem of "Back in Black" began, it became evident people were there for the good beer AND the AC/DC cover band performance. I haven't seen that much enthusiasim for AC/DC since the last time I wore a fanny pack. Speaking of which, everyone wears fanny packs. They are up and coming in the states but out in full force here. Andy traded his backpack for 17 of them and can now call all of his luggage carry-on. He may look like a fool but swears it is more efficient. Maybe he is the more stylish/smarter one of the relationship...
Headed to Punta Arenas/Puerto Natales tomorrow.

Eric has always thought fanny packs were stylish and is glad there is a country to back him up. Was the beer fest as fun as Germany?
